My mother taught me to sew when I was eight years old.Mother, Grandma and Aunt Sharon have long been an influence in my textile creations. It was not until my daughter was born in 1993 that I learned about Waldorf education, founded by Rudolph Steiner. My daughter flourished during her two years of Waldorf kindergarten and I became impassioned by the integration of the arts in the curriculum.I fell in love with and started creating these sweet and simple dolls and soon people wanted to purchase them from me. At present I work full time for the California Legislature and therefore have a limited amount of time for doll making.I manage to sell a few dolls at Waldorf education events in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area.I also occasionally sell my dolls at the Davis Farmers Market in Davis, California.Teaching doll making has been one of my most rewarding experiences.Once I retire, doll making will move to the forefront of my life.In the meantime, enjoy my gallery photos and watch my calendar for events.
